U.S. Senate votes on debt limit deal

The U.S. Senate has just begun voting on the debt limit deal. Live video below:

9:20 AM PT: Okay, place your bets on the final tally. I'll take 73. (Edit: 73 in favor of the deal, that is.)

9:25 AM PT: Have you ever noticed how when they call Jim Risch's name during roll call votes it sounds like they want to know how Mr. Rich is voting?

9:28 AM PT: I don't have an exact tally, but the only Democratic names I've heard voting no so far are Lautenberg, Menendez, Harkin, and Sanders. We'll have a final tally as soon as voting is done, at which point President Obama is expected to speak.

9:36 AM PT: The debt deal now has enough votes to go to President Obama's desk, though we still don't have the final total. I heard Jeff Merkley's name as another Democratic no vote.

9:43 AM PT: The final tally was 74-26.
